Womens vs Weymouth FC Women Development

MATCH REPORT

Bridport came into the game with a depleted squad, with four players unavailable due to other commitments. This meant we had to call upon players returning from injury, making for a challenging afternoon.

We were slow to start in the first half, and unfortunately a tackle and a dodgy landing resulted in Lauren having to go to hospital. Our centre-back Lindsey also had to come off through injury. Pixie stepped in and played exceptionally well in defence.

The second half saw a change in goal, with Lily Davenport coming on and putting in an incredible performance, especially considering she doesn’t often feature in the squad.

We came out with much more energy and desire after the break. Flo came on and added even more fire to the team, helping us push forward and eventually get on the scoresheet through Emily Robinson.

We know we can do better, but we draw a line under this one and move on. With a much-strengthened squad expected next week, we’ll be ready to go again.

Player’s Player: Pixie Phillips

Manager’s Player: Lily Davenport

Good luck to Sophie Rodley who now goes travelling for a couple of months.

We’re wishing Loz a speedy recovery
