Match Report: Bath City Development 2–1 Bridport FC
Somerset County Women’s League Division 1
Twerton Park Stadium, Bath – Sunday 21st September 2025

Bridport travelled to Twerton Park for a Somerset County Women’s League Division 1 clash
against Bath City Development.

The very impressive stadium uptakes a capacity of around 8,000 meaning our loyal travelling
supporters had plenty of choice for seats as the team looked to build on recent
performances.
We started strong and dominated possession for much of the first half, creating several
opportunities and held the opposition within their own half.

However, a corner for Bath was met with a powerful header that found the back of the net as
the home side managed to break through and clasp a 1-0 lead two minutes before the break.
Bridport nearly equalised just before half time when Lauren Kick’s free kick hit the bar and
Laura Tattershall’s follow-up also struck the woodwork.
After the restart, we continued to push forward, but Bath’s solid defence, especially their
centre- back, held firm.

Our persistence paid off in the 71st minute, with a score from Tattershall meaning it was now
1-1. We continued to chase the win by switching to three at the back late on, but were punished
in the 89th minute when Bath grabbed a second. Zoe Disley-German kept us in the game with several vital saves and was deservedly named Player of the Match.

Now we look forward to a long trip to Portishead in the first round of the League Cup, where
we’ll be aiming to bounce back.
